What Is Imteshal’s Story and Why You Should Care

Phew, we have a visitor! It seemed like a cobwebs-only zone, but yes, of course, greetings!

I would keep this short, precise, and totally to the point, unlike my articles, which usually overshoot their word limits thanks to my lack of self-control. Anyway, that would not be the case here, I hope.

This page stands to serve one purpose - to inform. Specifically, about me, what I do, and why you even are here to "Support Me". As of now, I work professionally as an entertainment journalist for Netflix Junkie. To deliver on the highest quality of journalism standards, and discourage wrong spewing and spam fanning, stands not only my employer's but my utmost priority. Thus, a large chunk of my day goes about researching and again cross-checking the former to ensure only the finest goes out on the web.

Sounds good so far? Now, here comes an impedance.

The need for support

Owing to a childhood accident, I acquired PTSD, anxiety, and the little garnishings of panic attacks on the top. After several dilemmas, career changes, and trial and error later, I found writing to be my soul food. Yet, as a science and IT graduate, smitten and aspiring to be a polymath, my love for art, architecture, history, literature, the old poets, cinema, science, technology, and all the like, still stands bare.

Even after writing for my professional career, I felt a part of me was missing. I had this thirst to bring out the best in me to showcase, find like-minded people, pique their curiosity, and engage in healthy, positive conversations. To quench the same, I started a Medium page, sometimes back, to write poetry. While it did start well, I found myself failing to maintain consistency due to a vast share of professional and familial responsibilities.

This is where you come in

So, I decided to sit down and reorganize a bit. I plan to start and maintain two blogs alongside my consistent professional entertainment reporting. Owing to budgetary constraints, I would not be able to host a website of my own and thus would utilize sub-domains, which come with monetization restrictions.

The grand plan is to orchestrate and manage four such ones:
1. Medium - Poetry, literature, arts, and culture
2. Substack - Articles on technology, space, and science
3. Blogger - Anything that falls outside of the dominion of the above two; mostly self-perspectives and travel journalling
4. X (formerly Twitter) - Daily threads to ignite curious minds

I seek your help in running these channels of independent, unbiased, and truthful writing and the spirit of journalism.

To help me grow and sustain, manage my responsibilities, and also maintain producing quality content, I would need 'tips'. Balancing vital ends like mental health therapy and paying internet bills burns a gaping hole in my pockets. Let's be honest, you need oil to keep the lamp burning, right?

If you read any of my content and liked it enough to land here, then please do help me move forward with a token of appreciation - in currency or kind. You would be helping me buy the next month's groceries in heartfelt fulfillment or perhaps gifting me a new keyboard. Every penny you share with me, I bequeath, will go for the rightful of all uses (The nerd in me does not allow drinks or parties, so there's no wasteful expenditure).
Finally, o' kind soul, if you read all the way down here, then I genuinely hug you 🫂.

Your discretion and consideration,
Much love,
Mohammed Imteshal Karim
