I started my journey in self portrait photography when there were no light in my world. It felt like I was locked up in a dark prison. Photography was my escape. It was the only thing I still enjoyed doing. So I decided to give myself permission to play with it. Moustly all of my self portraits are result of me beeing in the flow of the moment and just doing what feels right to do exactly in that moment. Sometimes I get inspiration or idea and during the photoshoot the result is completely different from what I had in mind. And it's ok. Because what I learn doing my selfportraits are trusting the process, being in the moment and just playing. At a times I also find menaing and deeper purpose to my work, but not every portrait has it and that's ok.
Hope you'll enjoy and support my journey!
With love, Ilze
