I’m not thankful for the heartbreak.
I’m not thankful for the silence, the distance, or the ending.
But I am thankful that at one point in my life, I loved someone with a depth that changed the way I will ever love again.
Some people don’t stay.
Some stories don’t last.
Some connections aren’t meant for forever — but they still leave a mark nothing else can replace.
And even though we didn’t make it to the ending that once felt promised, I’m grateful the story existed at all.
I’m grateful for the version of myself that loved without hesitation, that waited without questions, that hoped without guarantees.
I’m grateful that once — even briefly — I loved someone in a way my heart will never forget.
Because no matter where life takes us, no matter who we become, no matter how far we drift…
I’ll never love anyone the way I loved you.
And maybe the bittersweet part is this:
I’m not thanking the ending —
I’m thanking the beginning.
The part of us that was real, soft, quiet, and unforgettable.
