Oh my gosh, we are finally here!
I've been working on launching VdV in this new way for quite some time during this crazy year and a half or so we've had... How have you been holding up? Listen, if you just made it through the day some days, then good for you, because it has been rough! I mean... Whew!!
But God is good and we are still here, and I am so excited and pleased to bring you this new stage of VdV, where I actually let you into the studio to see what's happening firsthand, peep my work in progress and upcoming projects as they unfold behind the scenes, and generally have you walk with me as VdV grows and develops!
It has been five solid years of doing this bridal industry thing (more than that, in fact, but the first three years were lots of practice, personal growth and learning along the way!) and I've been blessed to be part of a stellar tribe of creatives, vendors and professionals and curate an inner circle that gives me the space to really bring my ideas to life as a fashion artist as well as a bridal designer, and some beautiful things are shaping as a result of that freedom. I am so grateful ❤️and I'm also really looking forward to introducing you to some of those individuals as we journey together creating these beautiful things.
So, this very random and candid portrait of me was taken a few years ago by my dear friend and designer of the VdV brand logo, graphic designer and photographer Mario Sargeant - you can see some of his awesome work here... I just LOVE his macro photography! Anyway, I love this shot and I have used this consistently over the past few years as my official headshot because it really captures the essence of what I want to live for daily: joy, purpose and peace of mind.
I'm shooting soon with one of my other favourite people in the world, and even though I don't think I'll ever really fully retire this image by Mario, I'm looking forward to seeing what my face says a few years' of experience and a wealth of knowledge later.
Of course, I'll be sharing exclusive BTS action on that shoot, so stay tuned, more notes to come... and consider buying me a cup of tea if you want a little more than what everyone else is getting ;)
