Things are finally starting to happen on my Airfix Prince build. The 3D replacement deck is painted, along with the foredeck, quarterdeck and poops!
Why paint the deck parts when I am just going to lay wood veneer over them? Well firstly the primer helps the little wood strips stick down better, and I know from previous builds the colour under the veneer can bleed through. So all surfaces need to be the same colour so the wood matches.
Today I will get a start on the wood veneer planking, which should tie together the Airfix parts and my 3D printed deck so they all look the same.
Video hopefully out in the next 12 hours. Bask has already cut all the footage shot to date, so we only need add todays planking clips then bingo, bongo! I will finally have a video to share with you.
