Scars

Oct 18, 2023

I have scars…many of them of all shapes and sizes. Some of them remind me of a time where I was low and broken. Some remind me of a time where I was alone and lost. Some remind me of a time where I thought I was going to be ok. My scars are my stories and each time I look at them, I tell myself, “Thank you for teaching me to be strong. I love you. Heal well.” When you remind yourself of this, the scars no longer give you phantom lingering of pain but it gives you the silent strength you seek when words can’t be found.

So many of us find the greatest treasure in life is to understand who we are underneath all the glam and social masks. Without understanding her, who you present to the world is a fake smile whose eyes carry the cold hard truth that you cannot love all of who you are. We must remember that. The person who you face at the end of the day is the person you must never turn away when she has no one. You cannot reject her because no words of love were heard. You cannot despise her because no applause was heard from her performance. You must love her through the ordeal of it all and even if you both stand in silence, it will be a silence of trust between you and her.

Take a look at your scars…love each part and never reject them. It brought you the courage today that makes you stand tall.

Love & Light,
