Life…
September is almost over and autumn is coming to introduce itself to us as summer closes the chapter. As school begins and children return to the academic world, parents are busy sending little ones to school, kissing them good-bye and wishing them a good day. As the nights become longer and the days shorten, the holidays are coming upon us with a rush faster than we can remember to handle. We are searching for moments in between for stolen hugs and kisses and trying to balance a busy lifestyle. We cross off lists as we go about the day and then feel guilty when we can’t make it to one event. Through the loudness of “Mommy, Mommy, Mommy,” we escape to the bathrooms for a split second to hold ourselves together while we shed a few tears because we’re so exhausted. And the disappointment of opening up the fridge to realize we’d forgotten to shop for food and now dinner is going to be late…again.
Life…
You and I both run it on a tight ship and sometimes super moving moment where we can’t seem to catch up. Before we know it, our oldest has turned the age we were when we got married and our youngest seems to dance a tune that reminds us to slow down. We lose parents and loved ones while we gain numbers on the scale because we forget to take care of ourselves. The world is fast turning and we are blindly running towards all exits at times, it seems.
Life…
A rush of overwhelming moments that seems to announce our arrival too late and our exit too soon. A blend of cherished smiles that we sometimes forget to ask if it’s real or if there’s pain hidden beneath. As we capture moments on camera and share it around social media, someone far away who we haven’t spoken to, smiles silently in the night, looking at our faces. We have shared our children growing up with strangers more than we have with families and friends who hardly visit.

A dance that one day will end on a final note detailing our every single moment. Will it be a note that will be high or low? Will it bring tears or joy? And will it win hearts when replayed over and over?
