Hey, if you're reading this then you are the FIRST to hear about this project. After designing the imperial checkpoint building it got me thinking that a similar design could be used to make modular buildings. I came up with a design that can fit in with a number of different 3 3/4" figures. Star Wars, GI Joe, Halo, Fortnite, Joy Toy, and even Jurassic Park.
Because the system has so many parts that can be made for it, I didn't want to be left investing tons of money in development and producing molds without a guarantee I'd get something back for my investment. Therefore, I will be raising funds via pre-orders through an Indiegogo I will be launching as soon as I have everything designed. Also, new products tend to create backlogs and keeping this project separate from regular website orders could alleviate some of that. Here are some pics...
Above is an idea of a single small building. Just 3 walls so you can put an interior in it if you choose. Each wall is 5 x 5.5 inches with .25" on each side that goes behind the posts. A single "unit" like this has a 6x6 footprint.
I call this one a Storefront and it has a service window and counter. The design of each roof panel lets you orient them sloped down toward the back or sit them sideways for a peaked roof.
Here's an example of the double sloped roof on a garage.
There's almost no limit to how big you want to go as you can see with this hanger. This would be perfect for an X-wing!
Just like all my kits, the parts will be cast resin and require painting and glue to assemble. I wish I could make the parts easily removable so people can take apart and rebuild. Well, unless someone has hundreds of thousands of dollars just laying around to give me to have these produced in a factory, you're stuck using non permanent adhesive.
I am working on far far more parts than just whats shown here. Stairs, guard towers, animal enclosure walls, and even an elevator! I will be showing off more in days to come. I highly recommend following my Indiegogo draft page. Keep in mind until launch things will change a lot as I add items and generally complete the campaign. As always, I'm open to any ideas you have.
