Hello, and welcome to History of the Hungarians! My name is Ferenc Hüvös, and I started this podcast at the end of summer 2025 so that I could share my passion of history with the wider world. Hungary has such a fascinating past that influences our lives and our thinking up to the present day. My hope is that by creating a chronological, narrative history podcast, I can help people understand my country better, and awaken the same passion for history that I feel in them.
While the podcast is a major passion project of mine, the situation in my home country is putting me under heavy pressure to monetize it. But given that I am Hungarian, while the majority of my audience is international means that advertising opportunities are rare. In addition to this, Hungarian politics has a quirk which makes many advertisers untrustworthy, which could impact the quality of the show. For a solution I turn to my audience and the good people of the internet.
