Another installment in our TrueReality(tm) Automotive Series. I am still having some struggles with camera angles. It's very difficult to see the GoPro7 screen when it is so close to the ground. It also has a nasty habit of going black after a few seconds. Hopefully my GoPro10 will alleviate this in future videos. On an bright note, the Rode wireless mic has provided a huge improvement for the audio. Even though it got muffled a bit from being tucked under all those winter layers, a little bit of EQ and compression in post tweaked that right up. If you find this series to be long and drawn out, be glad you did not have to edit the many hours that ended up on the cutting floor. Even I edit in 1.5x speed so I won't feel bad if you watch it in 1.5x speed. A production goal of mine is to tighten up the overall presentation and improve the flow and cadence. Part of achieving this is being better prepared and having a rough outline before starting. However, this goes directly against the core element of the TrueReality (tm) concept which is that I'm showing you what you would expect to encounter when you do it for the first time by seeing me encounter it for the first time right there on screen. Doing this drives home some of the missteps and problems you might encounter. I feel doing it this way will leave a bigger 'ah-ha impression' than simply telling you some tip that you will promptly forget after the video is done. So there is a fine balance between being authentic and having a swift pace. Just know that I am striving to always improve in this regard. Cheers!
