Lauren Deborah (they/them) is a former closeted lesbian and former closeted comedian. They are happy to report they are now openly both.
They are known for their Cake It ‘Til You Make It series that lives on @hilaurendeborah. In these videos, Lauren lovingly forces friends to make cakes from The Australian Women’s Weekly Birthday Cake Book in the hopes to get the attention of Bake Off and become a host.
Lauren was a State Finalist in Raw Comedy 2025. Lauren travels around the world performing stand-up comedy. They are on an endless summer vacation, made possible by full-time housesitting.
Lauren’s podcast about coming out, My Dad Stole My Limelight, part of Vancouver’s 604 Podcast Network, has been seen live at Vancouver Pride, in iHeart Podcast spotlight features and Elizabeth Bank’s WHOHAHA’s featured podcasts.
Their digital journal of a chronic oversharer, hi, lauren deborah! lives on Substack. Lauren's writing has been published in Vancouver Pride Magazine and Lauren was the Open Forum Editor for Angles Magazine Volume 2. They were selected in the 2025 CrimeBits Competition and had their work published in the anthology.
