I Got 1000 YouTube Subscribers!

Mar 26, 2022

We hit 1000 YouTube Subscribers and here's how I did it!
Just one year ago, we celebrated hitting 200 subscribers and now, here we are hitting our first big milestone, and our first step to making this passion project come to life! It has been such an amazing journey for us so far and we've only just started. With that being said, it's time I talk about what I did in order to grind out the platform to get to where I am today!

First of all I'd like for you guys to know that the tips I'm about to give are tips you've probably heard before. The only difference is that I'm going to be giving you my own personal insight and opinion on these tips to help you know which helped me. And from there, you'll hopefully be able figure out which tips and habits would best work for you.

  • KNOW WHAT NICHE YOU REALLY WANT TO BE IN

If you're reading this far into the post then I'm sure you have an idea on how YouTube videos work. We all know that each channel has their own niche, from generic to super unique niches. Examples of "niches" would be: Travel, Vlogs, Gaming, How-to, Education, etc. In my case, the Hellish Husky YouTube Channel is in the "Gaming" niche BUT also dabbles into the "Vlog" and "How-to/Education" niches. I would like to take this time to let you know that having multiple niches for a channel is NOT recommended as it can mess up with the algorithm.

Knowing what niche you want to be in will definitely help create a consistent personality and brand.

This will also help you focus on what content you can plan for and what type of videos you'll be creating in general.

  • POST CONSISTENTLY
You've definitely heard this before and I know that it can be very challenging to do. Be that as it may, I do have a tip for you to make sure you get to post on the regular.

Burning out is something that happens often when you film everyday and not to mention that content you film also requires to be edited. This means a lot of hours will be put into each video. So in order for you to be consistent, focus on posting WEEKLY rather than daily. What I did is I edited multiple videos and instead of putting them out IMMEDIATELY, I went ahead and SCHEDULED the videos to come out each week. This led me to having a 3 MONTH LEAD. This meant I never really had to worry if I didn't get any edits done from time to time knowing that I had content lined up which led to having less burnouts and helped me to focus on other passion projects like music and streaming

(Have you heard that I make music? Check it out! Feel free to play them during your streams or use them in your videos! Share them with me! I'd love to see what you do with it for your content!)

  • LOVE WHAT YOU DO

This is something you hear a lot but it's easy to dismiss it when it comes from someone with a huge following but take it from me! Filming content you don't genuinely enjoy or have no interest in, will really bring you down and may even ruin the hobby for you entirely.

If you started a YouTube channel for the sake of earning, then I say you need to mentally prepare much more compared to those who are like me, who are just here on the platform having fun.

  • GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY YOU TAKE FROM

This is one of my favorite lines. "Give back to the community you take from". Whether it be watching other small streamers or supporting and watching smaller YouTube Content Creators, give back to the community. This is one of the things that has been helping me on my Twitch journey

(DID YOU KNOW I STREAM? Come check me out!)

The mentality of giving back and paying it forward has been such a positive thing for me. Supporting other small creators is also an opportunity for you to learn from them. You'll see things that they do that you may want to replicate or even stay away from doing in general.

  • BE THE CREATOR YOU WANT TO WATCH
We all have that creator we love watching. Learn from them and you'll notice that even they lack things that YOU personally want to see. Try to be everything they are (while staying true to yourself) as well as everything they lack. Do everything to become the creator you enjoy watching. This to me is important because like I said, you need to love what you do and that includes watching yourself in order to see places you could improve on. Eventually, you'll become the creator you want to watch and you'll consistently be looking for things to improve on.

That's all I have to talk about for now and if you guys have more questions, find me on Instagram and send me a message! Feel free to ask me #LIVE on TWITCH: HellishHusky. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all my friends and family who have supported me since the start as well as the new friends we've made along the way! Thank you! I'll see you guys soon!
