Embracing Material Pleasures: My Journey ...

Embracing Material Pleasures: My Journey Inspired by Osho

Apr 02, 2024

I want to share a bit about a spiritual teacher who left a lasting impression on me—Osho, known originally as Rajneesh.

Despite his deep wisdom, he embraced luxury and once described himself as an ordinary man.

His words resonated with me deeply because, like him, despite being a spiritual teacher of the tantras, I am also just an ordinary woman who loves the simple pleasures in life—like makeup and good clothes.

This realization hit me hard during a welcome visit with my family in India.

Their looks of pity and their insistence on taking me shopping to renew my wardrobe made me realize that I hadn't been taking care of my appearance or material possessions for a long time.

Now, as I approach my 40th birthday at the end of the month, I feel it's time to ground myself more in the material world and take care of my appearance as I did in my twenties (like the picture below, I was 23!)

So, I've posted a wishlist to fund a few treats for myself for my 40th birthday.

Part of me wishes I could buy all these things for myself, or have someone special treat me, but that's not my current reality. However, I'm actively working to change that reality, and I truly believe it will happen soon.

In the meantime, I'm embracing my feminine energy and remaining open to receiving. Perhaps a generous man would want to treat me! If you feel good about yourself by making me feel good, it's your opportunity!

To end this post, I want to thank Osho for decomplexing me and showing me that it's okay to ask for things that are material.

And to all of you, I want to say thank you—from the bottom of my heart. Your support means everything to me.

xoxo
