We have been in Querétaro for almost 4 weeks now. It's been an adventure discovering new foods, appreciating the architecture, and adjusting to a new way of life! Centro is absolutely beautiful. The shopping malls are pretty stunning too. Driving has been a challenge. Speaking Spanish has been and even bigger challenge. We may get a tutor.
We spent 2 days visiting Amealco, Tequis, and Bernal. We had lunch at a winery one day and visited a cigar factory another day. Other than that and a couple of trips into Queretaro, we have been sticking around Zákia doing ordinary things, like grocery shopping and occasionally eating out in the neighborhood strip malls. We are getting our steps in and have both lost about 5 pounds each without even trying. The food here is fresher and really does seem like it lacks the additives often found in food in the USA.
The one thing that we have not adjusted too is Mexican time. We get up early and go to bed early. We need to shift our clocks about 4 hours later. LOL
