Recently read an article by a well acknowledged journalist/novelist. Cant remember much of the content, but what really struck me there was the term he used to describe the people that shape todays opinions of what a well functioning society is. The young professionals. Way I see it a young professional is a lifestyle choice. These creatures seem to have about everything there is.
They know something about everything, exceptional communicative skills for any possible situation in the book of situations to handle. These guys have a flawless record on the outside and make you hurt everytime you`re running down that facebook profile. Every personal development or successful investment book out there- they either lived or are currently living through.
Self confidence is shinning through along with the echo of those expensive shoes on the city pavement. See they only live for the Saturday brunches serving mozzarella and cherry tomato appetizers topped with light roast high end coffee or a stress relief Mimosa. Only well dressed people and so much laughter you will notice. Higher consciousness and animal shelter donation talkin` are served for lunch later on. Some may even surprise you with the rare knowledge on how poor orphans are doing in particular places. They like preaching a lot. See making it so far in life stepping out that upper-middle class home is a story worth telling all over.
These young professionals from mostly marketing or financial advise industry already changed the world. It`s kinda hard to adjust for someone like me though.
See when I was sixteen, right before filing in papers on A level subjects, a few lectors came to help us decide.
One of those ,a twenty seven year old Young Ultra Professional. A rare thing back then, by the way. All I remember from the whole hour long speech is the fact that he owned an Aston Martin as an Insurance company employee and… he drew diagrams. Not gonna trash those miraculous achievements, but the last sentence wraps the importance of that speech in a nutshell.
It was an important speech. May have been quietly collecting dust in a certain drawer of my mind for years, but it made so many kids in that hall feel less.
Couldn`t help but turning my head around, observing my mediocre looking classmates that always had trouble walking up to a girl. All the heavenly smelling pretty shampoo commercial girls were absolutely enchanted. And you see, every sixteen year old boy dreams about that easy going princess that laughs at every joke and fits in every situation charming everyone in the room, catching wind with those gorgeous young locks…
And me. I was just bored. Counting minutes before break, mirages of that MORE cigarettes pack in my backpack.I felt less, too. See no guy liked me ever at all, so I was trying to figure out how accurate are those diagrams. And how sad is it to brag about a fucking car at an academic environment with so many different kids, half of those are kinda lost and abused during their teen years already.
My poor slightly overweight nerdy classmates felt lessened. A poorly dressed and poor in general me felt less, too. See I would only ever be given 60euros to cover stationary, clothes and entertainment per month. My dad lost his job around there somewhere.
In the endgame though, the slightly overweight nerds always realize how little the Aston martin means without purpose and a supportive girl nearby that should have somewhat of a purpose too. The filthy ugly little me grew up and found a purpose of my own, too. And I still can`t stand five minutes listening to shitty mansplaining and overly tight pants that drive a metaphorical ALFA ROMEO.
The lector is the winner here after all. Raised some more young professionals that work in marketing or give out financial advice, some even start a brand of their own life coaching skills or own a business that combines both marketing and financial advice. No one even cares about how unique and exceptional those pizza boxes are, no one cares how carefully packaged them hand knitted 20euro baby mittens are or how soft the pricey cotton. Literally ANY person could do it these days. ANY. Its all about who you know or whose ass youve kissed enough when it comes to the young professionals of today. But the slightly overweight scientist and a poorly dressed teenage drunk cares about something else.
To me, these invincible society shapers were always too boring to ever care or notice. See me and the scientist always cared for more… It took me twenty eight years to figure out what the MORE is. Dont even know how the nerd is doing with his higher purpose. Mine apparently is agronomy and writing. And I am trully good at both, but the young professionals, see, have a strict and stable stairical ideology, therefore, they have the money. Therefore, they can successfully reproduce. Even though we are experiencing climate change, the young professionals already own a generation of lazy wanna be a youtuber, that is a new species of kids popping out everywhere. Therefore- theyre safe.
And who`s gonna have to clean the dying planet when it gets too hot?
See, I only met two assholes ever, both wanted to sit on their ass or the heavenly fairy. I wanna leave something after myself to compensate for all those bruises of LOVE.
So basically, the Aston Martin lector mentally sterilized half of the sixteen year old kids in that very hall. He and The Shampoo Girl continue feeding on the poor, exchanging hard physical work for, say a blind shot to a better future WITH PROPPER GUIDANCE. Works everytime.
What is it if not modern slavery. I am a slave too. You can`t fight see. These people are special just by how shiny looking and painless The Doctrine Of Worldwide AssLickers is.
And girls like me hardly ever make a climb somewhere with their unpopular opinions. And if they somehow do develop enough skill to ease up and enjoy life a little, its barely anyone left that hasnt married yet. Or theres too many scars. Or its just a little too late for men or kids.
So we shall all make some noise for The Aston and Lady Coconut Shampoo.
They are the true winners in modern society. The past and future leaders. Theyre just so special that way by being most boring, theyre nearly transparent in those streets. The lawyers. The destroyers. Then they control the restorers. The spiral. Viral. Silo.
