Hi All,
Another update on the dual mono channel strip. Unfortunately the issue I thought I had fixed, uncovered a cascade of other issues that needed fixing.
At its heart, the routing for the external side chain didn't quite work and needed a lot of work to redesign and recode. Once I had fixed that after a number of new revisions, an issue with the handling of balance and pan emerged, that I think I have now fixed and will be tested over the next few days.
The one final feature I need to implement in this version is a dedicated trim knob for the omnipressor, but now that we have an assignable external sidechain, that has become more complicated as I need to program the logic to adjust gain on both the signal flow as well as the sidechain flow, but only when we are using the main signal as the level detection.
I've spent many hours getting this to this stage, and hopefully can code the last few changes relatively quickly. The good news is that it sounds pretty good and having the full versatility of the omnipressor at the heart of the channel strip gives access to a remarkable range of sound shaping. The work I've done with the coding approach for this one should serve as a springboard for creating a number of different flavours of channel strips going forward.
One of the reason's I'm puting so much effort into the multi channel versions is to maximize the flexibility of H9000 chains. We are limited to 4 algorithms per chain. I'm trying to pack as much into 1 block as I can, so that we have 3 more blocks of Eventide goodness to throw at our productions.
Thankyou all again for your patience. Not far to go now.
Jason
