Ukraine has gained control over further portions of Krynky, coming closer to securing the center of the town as a bridgehead. However, the extended battles for the village have left it utterly devastated. Any cover it may have once provided Ukrainian troops has been drastically reduced. Even if Ukraine takes the whole village, it won't serve well as a base of operations for future and deeper operations across the Dnipro river. However, it will help Ukraine to capture other nearby settlements, which collectively, may serve as enough of a bridgehead to become a launchpad.

Outside of Bakhmut, Russia has recaptured Khromove from Ukraine. The suburb is effectively a single street, so in geographic scope, its capture is negligible. However, it was the last urban or suburban area that Ukraine controlled in this segment of the Bakhmut front. Ukraine still retains control over a small corner of Bakhmut in the southwestern part of the city. Russia will likely step up operations to capture this part of the city, as well as Klishchiivka and Andriivka now that Russia has recaptured the Berkhivka reservoir area and Khromove.

While heavy damage has been done to Russian fortifications along the coast of the Crimean peninsula, Ukraine instead attacked airbases on the peninsula with long range missiles. In particular, Saky airbase took notable damage. Ukraine has also stepped up their information warfare campaign in the region, as television networks were hacked and a speech from Zelenskyy was shown.

Russian Major General Vladimir Zavadsky has been killer according to both Russian and Ukrainian media. He reportedly was killed due to a landmine explosion near Izyum, which has been under Ukrainian control for a while. It's possible that this was an extremely delayed announcement, but it's also possible he was killed around Makiivka, or elsewhere along the Kharkiv and Luhansk front. However, such deaths would likely have been assigned to the regions of closer or larger settlements such as Kupyansk, Severodonetsk, and Lyman. There has also been some speculation that he was killed in Kherson oblast, despite the reporting that he was killed in Izyum. This would match with a separate incident today, in which Ukraine is said to have struck a command post in Kherson, and is believed to have killed a number of Russian officers. Zavadsky is one of over a half dozen Russian generals who are confirmed to have been killed since Russia's full scale invasion of Ukraine.

A possible scandal has hit Ukraine, as it has been reported that several companies have exported military equipment to Russia for years after the events of 2014, and even after 2022 in some cases. Many of the accused are the usual suspects, companies such as Motor Sich which have been under investigation for a while. Denials have done quickly by many of the involved, including the stage enterprise Ukroboronprom. If there are any truth to these claims, it puts many of Ukraine's major corporations into an extraordinarily awkward situation, and will lead to some major litigation.

Poland's current government is finally attempting to resolve the border situation, sending ministers to the border to try to find a solution. Opposition and leader of the parliamentary majority, Donald Tusk, has been calling for a resolution to the impasse. The current Polish government will likely fail in under two weeks, which will give Tusk an opportunity to create a new government and to then resolve the crisis if the current government fails to do so. However with every passing day, Ukraine's trade situation is being hampered.
