Russian forces have raised the flag in Tonenke, confirming that the eastern half of the village is securely under their control. Ukraine has managed to inflict heavy casualties on Russian armor at Berdychi, but most of the village, if not all of it, has fallen under Russian control. Russian troops are not yet confirmed to be in Semenivka, but they are operating in the area. Orlivka seems to be fully under Russian control at this point. In short, Ukraine's defensive line here is compromised and will likely collapse entirely over the next day or two.
Ukraine launched a major round of strikes into the Crimean peninsula, in particular targeting the port city of Feodosia. Given the attacks and the recently leaked conversation of German officials regarding the hypothetical destruction of the Kerch Strait Bridge, Russian authorities felt it wise to close the bridge. Such closures are not particularly uncommon, but it is notable given recent events.
Russia launched heavy strikes at Sumy, Kharkiv, and Odesa, causing casualties. International media took slightly more attention to these attacks than normal, which I find noteworthy. Normally, these types of attacks gather little international attention, as they happen close to daily. The fact that at least some attention is being paid to the latest round is a sign that Ukraine is once again on the international radar, and means that more aid may be coming in the future. For instance, recent opinion polls in the United States have swung towards the view that the United States hasn't given enough aid towards Ukraine, a notable reversal from the previous trend.
Russia faced several notable security incidents today. The one most likely caused by Ukraine took place in Yekaterinburg, located deep in central Russia. An explosion hit a power plant; Russian authorities blamed a short circuit, but almost immediately rumors of an IED being responsible circulated. Secondly, a drone slammed into a residential building in Saint Petersburg. The likely target was a nearby oil refinery. The distance is quite far for Ukrainian drones launched from Ukraine to drink, so the miss is not surprising. In addition, Russia detained dozens of protesters and supporters or Navalny, who were commemorating him the day after his funeral. Russian authorities had caved and allowed a public funeral, and there were large protests in solidarity that were allowed, to an extent. However, the Russian authorities cracked down hard today. The other incident involved exchanges of gunfire with security forces in the Republic of Ingushetia, which has historically been a restive region under Russian control in the Caucasus (it's next to Chechnya). The fighting seems to be centered around a single apartment building in Karabulak, which is less than ten miles from the largest city (Nazran) and the capital (Magas).
