Ukraine has seemingly not done any further damage to the bridges over the Reka Seym, but a large amount of footage from strikes yesterday near the one disabled pontoon was published. Russia took numerous armored losses here, and seemingly disabled their own pontoon by breaking it into pieces and dragging it to one side of the river. This more or less leaves one pontoon operations which acts as a bottleneck and will help facilitate further Ukrainian attacks on their convoys.
Syrskyi today during a presentation helpfully shared a map of Ukrainian advances in Kursk oblast. If shows over a thousand square kilometers which have been captured, and according to Syrskyi, close to a hundred settlements that have been captured. The map is roughly in line with most public estimates, particularly if one includes some of the reconnaissance and sabotage missions carried out by the Ukrainian military deeper in the oblast. It also verified that Korenevo is in fact not under Ukrainian goal despite some claims of this being the case. Three claims were further elevated today thanks to a case of mistaken identification of Russian vehicles by some, leading to a belief that Ukrainian convoys were operating inside of the city.
Multiple Russian milbloggers have suddenly earned that Ukraine is on the offensive in Zaporizhzhia oblast, specifically towards the city of Polohy. However, there is not evidence to back this up, yet. There are close to no rumors coming from the Ukrainian side, and two of the three Russian milbloggers to have reported on this alleged offensive quite recently filmed themselves driving in a car together in Kursk oblast. Interestingly enough though, their reads of the situation differently somewhat, as are the views of a third. These range from Ukraine merely conducting reconnaissance in force to launching an a major offensive where Russia has stripped away many of their forces.
Russian forces continue pressing on a handful of points, namely the Kostyantynivka, Pokrovsk, Toretsk, and Chasiv Yar regions. Russian forces have secured a decent portion of Kostyantynivka at this point in time, close to half of the city. Slow advances and Pokrovsk and Toretsk continue. Nothing that happened today has changed my views that Russia will likely capture both within the next couple of months. Russia has once again tried to cross the canal at Chasiv Yar, with limited success. However, they have pushed across the canal a couple of times in the past only to be expelled back across before.
The Rada overwhelmingly passed a bill which is deeply controversial in some circles. It is banning the UOC-MP. The Ukrainian Orthodox Church has faced charges ranging up to treason, due to its ties with Russia and allegedly using its properties to house Russian spies. Ukraine's religious institutions previously formally split with the Moscow Patriarchate and established a new, independent religious order.
