Ukrainian lines around Toretsk are collapsing, likely due to Russia's advance yesterday between Niu York and Toretsk. Russian reconnaissance groups have now made it inside of Toretsk itself, and in enough force to at least somewhat contest the city for a time before withdrawing. Ukrainian forces have also withdrawn from part of, if not all of, the region southeast of Niu York. This was a valuable area, holding fortifications that had stood since 2014. This is not something which can easily be replicated elsewhere, as they were built up over a decade, and now have been abandoned with Russia managing to avoid a grueling frontal assault to take them. With this are falling, Russia now also has a much easier option to resupply their troops at the eastern edge of Niu York. Linking up with them from further to the east and pushing north to Toretsk and between the major defensive lines in the area is probably Russia's plan.

Russia launched a major round of strikes in and around Kyiv for the first time in a while. Ukraine has been fairly mum about what was hit, but footage showed a missile strike on the Kyiv suburb of Brovary. There was also a large wave of drones launched towards the southern cities of Mykolaiv and Odesa; notably, Ukraine was sporting F-16s in Odesa just yesterday.

Further imagery and reporting of Morozovsk airbase has emerged, from Ukraine's attack a couple of days ago. Russia likely lost one Su-34 entirely, with another two reportedly damaged but salvageable. A photo has emerged of the site of the former ammunition depot, showing little kther than smoldering craters in the ground, alongside a lone guard tower. The attack was by no means a crippling blow to Russia's air power, but it was certainly one of the bigger ones in a while.

In what has turned into effectively a carousel, Russia is now reportedly shipping armaments to Iran in the aftermath of extremely high regional tensions through the Middle East. Specifically, Russia is reportedly sending air defenses to Iran. This comes, of course, just as Ukraine received their first F-16s, a much needed boost to their air power.

Ukraine sent out a fiery statement regarding the collapse of their relations with Mali. Hidden behind the angry and harsh words, Ukraine seemingly walked back some of their earlier implications that they might, potentially, have or previously had personnel in Mali. The statement comes as Ukraine is launching a diplomatic charm offensive in Africa, albeit in a different part of the continent. That venture has won some support already, such as Botswana signing on to the communique from the peace summit in Switzerland.
