The Houthis struck another two merchant vessels today, one with a drone and one with a missle. However, reportedly little damage was done to both vessels, which were both carrying crude oil. Both reportedly are still afloat and on their way. The United States announced strikes against the Houthis, declaring that two missile systems were destroyed. The United States also confirmed that salvage efforts are still ongoing with regards to the Sounion, which the Houthis hit and disabled earlier.
The threat of a planned general strike in Israel fizzled out almost immediately, as a judge ruled it unconstitutional. Despite this, hundreds of thousands still took to the streets in protest against Netanyahu and his policies. Netanyahu doubled down on his course of action, stating it would be difficult to agree to a deal with Hamas after they murdered six hostages.
Hamas also all but confirmed that they purposefully executed the hostages due to Israel's operation to free them. Citing an incident earlier this year, they stated that those watching the hostages had been given new directives. This was accompanied by a rendition of a man holding holding a gun, with someone cowering in the background with the Star of David on the back of their clothes. The messaging is extremely blatant, to say the least.
