The United States conveyed a warning to Hezbollah, that they may not be able to coax Israel to not invade. It's a further demonstration of a growing divide between American and Israeli foreign policies. But at the same time, the United States has insisted it will back Israel if necessary, in effect writing a blank check for Israel to invade regardless even as the United States publicly requests that they don't.
Hamas is reportedly being evicted from Qatar, after a strong pressure campaign from the United States to get Qatar to clamp down on Hamas. Hamas' political leadership is expected to move to Iraq, which is simply more awkward for everyone involved. The Iraqi military includes militias colored by the state, but which are backed by Iran and function independently. Meanwhile, the United States maintains a military presence in Iraq as well. And compared to Qatar, Iraq does not have the geopolitical clout that Qatar does. Overall, I think the effort to get Hamas expelled from Qatar (which has been hosting the peace talks) will do more harm than good.
