The port at Hudaydah is still suffering from fire, after the Israeli strikes on the oil terminal and other facilities in the city. Despite the relative clam between Israel and the Houthis after the Israeli attack, Israeli media has reported that they expect the conflict between the two to take a more "central" role in the future. This implies that Israel may be scaling back their potential plans to invade southern Lebanon to force Hezbollah beyond the Litani, in line with resolutions made by the United Nations. That said, Israel is still very actively engaged with Hezbollah, with mutual strikes persisting. Similarly, Israel's operation against Hamas continues as well, with Israel launching heavy strikes against Khan Younis today. This prompted further evacuation orders by the United Nations for parts of the city.
Netanyahu has arrived in the United States; and is already being spurned as some lawmakers have stated that they will not be attending Netanyahu's address to Congress. Vice President Harris (who is now also the presumptive Democratic nominee for the upcoming presidential elections) will not be presiding over the event, instead attending an event elsewhere. Harris will however hold private consultations with Netanyahu; it has been reported that she will press him harder than Biden has to improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza. Next in line to to preside over Netanyahu's address also declined to preside, showing a mediocre appetite for Netanyahu's presence. Separately, Biden has declared that he is committing the remainder of his term to trying to secure a peace in the region which would see a Palestine able to exercise self determination, and would see the remaining hostages be returned to Israel.
