The region was fairly quiet today. Attacks in northern Gaza have died down, as Israel seems to have reasserted itself in areas it had allowed Hamas to regain a foothold in. Southern Gaza is still seeing fighting mostly taking place around western Khan Younis; no offensive for Rafah has kicked off yet. There has reportedly been a lot of last minute efforts to broker some sort of deal, with countries such as Egypt and Qatar mediating. Separately, France notably threw their weight against Hezbollah, demanding that the group withdraw slightly from the Israeli border. However, the skirmishes between Israel and Hezbollah have trended towards a more stable level the past couple of weeks.

Of note, there were no strikes reported against the Houthis, breaking a multiple day streak. Iran itself test fired some missiles in a separate, yet less aggressive display of bravado. It is possible that the Houthis attacking a ship carrying food destined for Iran has caused Iran to tighten the leash on the Houthis. Particularly with the Iranian spy ship Behshad still at port in Djibouti (it has helped to direct strikes in the past), an optimistic reading is that the attacks by the Houthis may be on hold for a bit.
