Hezbollah's massive overnight attack on Israel wound up being almost entirely defanged at the start. What was believed to have been thousands of missiles, rockets, and drones being prepared to be launched at Israel collectively wound up only being a few hundred as preemptive Israeli strikes devastated Hezbollah's munition stockpiles which were being prepared to launch. Still, Hezbollah declared that it was their retaliation for the killing of Fuad Shukr, so it seems as if this particular chapter has concluded. With there being relatively little damage to Israel, Israel won't feel forced into a more intense cycle of conflict with Hezbollah. A very optimistic reading of the situation might even allow for potential de-escalation between the two, as Israel demonstrated strong air and intelligence superiority over Hezbollah, showing that their capability to fundamentally harm Israel is fairly limited. That said, Israel wasn't untouched by the barrage, and they have already been sitting on the fence as to whether or not they should take more significant actions against Hezbollah. It's also worth noting than an Israeli operation against Hezbollah would actually very possibly be in line with resolutions passed by the United Nations, unlike Israel's military activities elsewhere in the region.
