The United States, Egypt, and Qatar are increasingly showing extreme exasperation with all relevant parties in Israel and Gaza. In a joint push excluding Israel and all Palestinian factions, the three countries signaled an intention to get a deal done within the next week or two. The United States openly declared that most of the work was done and that a deal was close to being reached, which is quite the statement to make when one of the two key parties weren't ever part of the most recent round of negotiations. This points to the backdoor negotiations being successful or, alternatively, the larger powers simply growing tired of the situation and hoping that they can just declare the war to be over and hope that Israel and Hamas will recognize that they are outclassed geopolitically and listen. Iran has also once again reiterated that they will forego a retaliatory strike on Israel in exchange for a ceasefire being implemented. Hezbollah once again demonstrated some independence from Iran, posting videos online of their underground bunkers filled with imprecise rockets which can reach central Israel, with the implied message being that Hezbollah can hit back at Israel and that Israeli civilians (inadvertently or intentionally) could pay the price.
A high ranking member of Hamas' political wing gave a lengthy interview with NPR, where an interesting concession was laid out. Per the politician, Hamas would be willing to cede governance of Gaza, at least for a time. However, Hamas would not be willing to call off their opposition to Israel unless if Israel underwent a a disarmament process, something which I find rather extremely unlikely to happen.
