Jordan very publicly stated that they are not trying to convey messages from Israel or the United States to Iran, and that they are simply engaging as a sovereign country with Iran given regional tensions. However, the announcement that Biden will be speaking with the Jordanian king omorrow undermines that argument. Western media has provided a range of dates for when Iran's retaliation may be; more or less some time this week, though different outlets have provided different particulars.
Israel today conducted an air strike on a school acting as a shelter in Gaza, killing thirty. According to the New York Times, they were not able to tell if any of the victims were members of Hamas or other militias. The attack is the third such attack against schools in under a week, though the other incidents had lower casualty counts.
Israel and Hezbollah continue to launch heavier than typical strikes against each other. Hezbollah's attacks are mostly focused on the Golan Heights and the northeastern corner of Israel. The terrain is a bit higher here, and Israel has a large number of military installations. Hezbollah claimed to have struck a headquarters of one of the newly established Israeli units in the area.
