NFT Marketing Diary #2: How to Promote Your NFT Project at an Early Stage?

In the early stage of the project, especially when the product has not been launched and the hype is not built. Our primary objectives are:

  • Improving basic project information such as the NFT's background, purpose, project Roadmap, community, etc.

  • Reaching out to reliable investors and influencers to endorse the project.

  • Building up a community and generating the initial leads.

Website

The official website is one of the essential bases to judge whether an NFT project has investment potential. In the early stages of the project, you need a website but don’t spend too much time building a perfect one. The website could be much simpler and more straightforward, showing users the NFT's background, purpose, project Roadmap, community, light paper, etc. 

Discord & Telegram

Community building is the base for promoting your NFT project globally. To build an NFT community, starting with Telegram and Discord is an effective way. It’s ideal to build both of them if you have plenty of people. If not, you could just select one in your case.


Discord is an emerging digital distribution platform in which you could create a discord server for discussions. Initially, it is the platform abundantly used by gamers to collaborate with the co-players and actively chat about the skill and levels of passing the game, which eventually arose as a medium to form the gamer’s community. The intervention of NFT and the metaverse concept excited the gamers community with its nascent technology and phenomenal abilities to explore and earn. Many NFT projects have gained 70% of their community engagement from Discord. I will walk you through how to use Discord to market your projects in the following article.


Telegram marketing is an effective way to engage your potential buyers, influencers, and partners. For this, create private or public channels and then invite them to join your channels. On the go, you could inform the prospective buyers about the project's latest news in a public announcement channel. Meanwhile, you could negotiate with the influencers/partners about any new partnership and cross-promotion activities plan. I will walk you through the detailed Telegram Marketing approaches in the following article.

Influencer Whitelisting

In its most basic sense, whitelisting is the process through which social media influencers give projects unfettered endorsement and educational hype in their community groups.

NFT projects often release a certain number of whitelist slots and presales in their infancy to some quality community influencers. Influencers help attract a flourish of people joining the project community at early development stages before marketing starts and hype begins to build at a low price as they’ve been given tokens or NFTs as an extra or perks to purchasing at a discount price which’s been called OTC deals. All in all, this is an effective fans growth strategy for projects to generate leads at an early stage.


However, with the rising popularity of NFT, many influencer communities are emerging in the market which is more challenging for projects to sort out the quality ones from scams. I will walk you through how to select quality influencers in the next part.
