Buongiorno a tutti 🌞
La progettazione del libro Surprise sta andando avanti, Cecilia ed io abbiamo ragionato sull'impostazione grafica da dare al progetto e sono qui per condividere con voi un pò del nostro lavoro.
Prima di tutto però devo dire che dal momento in cui l'idea del libro cominciava a diventare sempre più concreta mi sono chiesta: a chi voglio indirizzare questa mia creazione? Quando ho realizzato la serie Surprise! La mia intenzione era di quella di ritornare, attraverso la fotografia, ad una fase di gioco e sperimentazione, e così è stato, tuttavia le mie immagini erano rivolte ad un pubblico adulto, poichè il mio desiderio era quello di riportare, attraverso la rievocazione di ricordi legati ai giocattolini della kinder, persone della mia età o più grandi alla loro infanzia.
Quando poi ho cominciato a pensare all'adattamento di questo progetto nella forma di libro per bambini ho capito che avevo bisogno di trovare un modo per regalare la stessa esperienza di gioco e scoperta che ho vissuto durante la realizzazione delle fotografie a chi avrebbe letto il libro; così ho sono andata in libreria e ho cominciato a guardare tanti tipi diversi di libri-gioco per bambini. Da lì tutto mi è sembrato un pò più chiaro: avrei dovuto associare alle fotografie (che per me sono il risultato di un lungo processo di ricerca e lavoro su me stessa) qualcosa di molto semplice e immediato, capace di attirare l'attenzione e stimolare il senso di curiosità dei bambini.
A questo punto mi sono confrontata con Cecilia e insieme abbiamo deciso di immaginare dei meccanismi usati nella cartotecnica come cursori, finestrelle, tagli da combinare alla parte testuale del libro, ossia la filastrocca.
Per me si tratta della prima volta di progettare e realizzare un libro, è un esperienza totalmente nuova quella che sto affrontando, quindi sono davvero eccitata e curiosa di vedere come man mano tutto ciò prenderà forma, ogni piccolo step è per me motivo di grande orgoglio.

The design of the Surprise book is moving forward, Cecilia and I have thought about the graphic layout to be given to the project and I am here to share some of our work with you.
First of all, however, I must say that from the moment in which the idea of the book began to become more and more concrete, I asked myself: to whom do I want to address this creation of mine? When I made the Surprise! Series My intention was to return, through photography, to a phase of play and experimentation, and so it was, however, my images were aimed at an adult audience, as my desire was to bring back, through the evocation of memories related to kinder toys, people my age or older to their childhood.
When I then began to think about adapting this project in the form of a children's book, I realized that I needed to find a way to give the same experience of play and discovery that I experienced during the making of the photographs to those who would read the book; so I went to the bookstore and started looking at many different kinds of children's playbooks. From there everything seemed a little clearer: I should have associated the photographs (which for me are the result of a long process of research and work on myself) with something very simple and immediate, capable of attracting attention and stimulating children's sense of curiosity.
At this point, I confronted Cecilia, and together we decided to imagine the mechanisms used in the paper industry such as sliders, windows, cuts to be combined with the textual part of the book, that is the nursery rhyme.
For me this is the first time to design and make a book, it is a totally new experience that I am facing, so I am really excited and curious to see how all this will take shape, every little step is a source of great pride for me.
