Hey everyone!
For years this little (well… big in spirit!) project has lived in my head and on my hard drive: the Saurer 330B, one of the most iconic Swiss trucks ever made.
I wanted to bring it to life in 1:87 scale, and let me tell you… it’s been a wild ride.
I started by hunting down every blueprint, photo, dimension and old brochure I could find. Then came the real battle: that beautifully rounded cabin.
Oh man, that shape fought me hard. I spent countless hours in Fusion 360 trying to nail those smooth curves. I restarted the cabin several times — each time I learned a new trick, looked back at my previous attempt and thought… “Nope, we can do way better than this!”
But every restart taught me something. Every failure got me closer.
And finally… after months of tweaking, cursing at the screen, and way too much coffee… the cabin shape clicked.
From there I could finally move to the chassis, the rear body, the little details that make a Saurer a Saurer.
Here are some fresh renders of where the project stands right now.
It’s still very much a work in progress (wheels, interior, decals, painting tests, etc.), but seeing it come together like this after so long feels incredible.
This isn’t just a model — it’s a piece of Swiss history I’ve wanted to capture for years.
