Putting one foot in front of the other. That's what surviving every day as an invisible artist is. The heroic task of blindly walking forward not having a clue if you're even on the road to town or slowly walking toward the cliffs. Like what I'm doing right now as I write this like a tiny drop to be added to the gigantic waves of information of the Cyber ocean, like those dreams where you scream and shout and desperately need to communicate something but what's coming out of your lungs is only air as far as people around you are concerned.
But we put one foot in front of the other, yes. Day in and day out. Like a bird that flies north or south for the first time not because it knows what's there but because something very powerful and strong is saying deep inside it "We must go". It's not the bird flying. It's the North calling.
And that is the call in the soul of the Artist. We follow that instinct. We don't know where we're going, all we know is that, despite fear and despair and uncertainty, we must put one foot in front of the other, day in and day out.
