Embracing Transformation, Conquering Fear, and Healing Our Inner Child

Jun 18, 2024

Ever feel like you're trapped in a never-ending loop, replaying the same old patterns of behavior? I have plenty of times. in many different ares of my life. It's like Groundhog Day, but instead of Bill Murray, it's you stuck in a rut. I get it – feeling stuck sucks. But here's the tea: transformation and personal growth are within reach, even when fear's got you in a headlock.

Let's keep it real for a sec – change can be scary AF. Stepping into the unknown feels like diving into a pool with no lifeguard on duty. Fear grips us tight, whispering sweet nothings about all the ways things could go wrong. But yo, peep this: growth ain't about staying comfy-cozy in your comfort zone. It's about diving headfirst into the deep end, even when you can't see the bottom.

Storytime: I remember my first time conducting a fitness class back in 2013, I did not know what I was doing, sweating and class routine forgotten. I had to be there my name was on the flier as the Dance Fitness Instructor. Boy, I was grateful for those who supported me that day. I exited my comfort zone into the world of helping others, I came up with a new routine on the spot and the time was over before I knew it. I was hired as a full time wellness consultant for the Parks Department and changed a lot of peoples lives. Fast-forward 13 years later I continue to serve virtually as a health coach and a support system for professionals and entrepreneur on the go. If I would of gave into fear, we would have never met!

I Love You.

So, what's the deal with feeling stuck in those pesky behavior patterns? It's like we're on autopilot, cruising through life with the same old script on repeat. But deep down, we're craving something more – a transformation, a glow-up, a rebirth of sorts. We want to break free from the chains of familiarity and step into our power like the bosses we are.

But fear? Oh, fear loves to rain on our parade. It's the voice in our head whispering, "What if you fail? What if you're not good enough? What if everything falls apart?" Clutch your pearls: fear is a liar, fam. It's just a smoke and mirrors show, trying to keep us small and safe in our little bubble of comfort.

Guess what? Personal growth ain't about playing it safe. It's about taking risks, embracing the unknown, and flipping fear the bird. It's about stepping out of your comfort zone and into the arena of possibility, where magic happens and dreams come true.

Honestly let's not forget about our inner child, familia. That little voice inside us that's still scared of the dark and afraid of getting hurt. Working on healing our inner child can be a crucial part of conquering fear and unlocking our true potential. By nurturing and loving that scared little kid inside us, we can rewrite those old scripts and step into a future filled with possibility and joy.

Sometimes we need a extra help on this journey, attending an inner child healing event, through Reiki, acupuncture, sound or crystal healing. There are plenty of meditations out there where you can begin to transmute our childhood fears. Energy healing can assist us in releasing those old fears and blockages that are holding us back. By tapping into the power of energy work, we can clear the path to transformation and step into our fullest, most vibrant selves. Read more about reiki here.

Journal prompts: Facing inner child fears.

  • Think back to a specific moment in your childhood when you felt scared or vulnerable. What was the fear rooted in? How does that fear manifest in your life today?"

  • "Reflect on a fear from your childhood that you've carried into adulthood. How has this fear shaped your decisions, relationships, and self-perception?"

  • "Consider the messages you received about fear and vulnerability as a child. How do these messages influence your ability to confront and overcome your fears now?"

  • "Write a letter to your inner child, acknowledging the fears they experienced and offering words of comfort, reassurance, and support."

So, how do we break free from those old behavior patterns and embrace transformation like the bosses we are?

Here are five lit tips to get you started:

  1. Get real with yourself: Take a hard look in the mirror and ask yourself, "Is this the life I want to be living?" If the answer's no, it's time to make some changes, fam.

  2. Set intentions, not resolutions: Instead of making empty promises to yourself, set clear intentions for the person you want to become and the life you want to live.

  3. Take small steps: Transformation ain't gonna happen overnight, so cut yourself some slack and focus on taking small, consistent actions towards your goals.

  4. Surround yourself with support: Ain't no shame in asking for help, so lean on your crew for support and encouragement when fear comes knocking.

  5. Embrace the journey: Remember, personal growth is a marathon, not a sprint. So, buckle up, enjoy the ride, and trust that every twist and turn is leading you exactly where you need to be.

In the end, feeling stuck in those old behavior patterns is just a pit stop on the road to transformation. So, throw caution to the wind, kick fear to the curb, and step into the badass version of yourself that's been waiting to shine. You got this– now go out there and slay those dragons!
