The story flashed before my eyes,
of a mother who declares
her son
couldn’t hurt a fly,
to which he intensely
replies:
“That’s
not true!!”
“I’ve hurt many flies— killed
them too.”
Then, as she turns
around,
he slinks off for a healthy
cry, for why — oh why —
did he have
to
lie?
Flies act as scavengers consuming rotting organic matter so we don’t have to deal with it which is a very important role in the environment. If it wasn’t for flies, there would be rubbish and dead animal carcasses everywhere.
Still—
Not only are flies annoying with their constant buzzing around your ears, they can be dangerous too. Flies land on fecal matter, dead animals, food scraps and manure and can pick up disease-carrying bacteria and germs.
Sincerely,
— G
