Big Updates to Private Windows Script (PrivWindoze)

Mar 12, 2025

PrivWindoze (Windows Privacy Script) recently received a big update with v5.0.0

In the past couple of months, most of my development time has gone into my other project, Furtivex Malware Removal Script, which I feel is in a much better state now.

I haven't forgotten about PrivWindoze though, and I recently got it all caught up using the same type of engine as FMRS. If you're a fan of the malware removal script, you will probably also like PrivWindoze. It focuses on retaining your privacy by removing telemetry gathering software from the system.

Here is a very recent log from my own system for review to give you an idea of what it does.

Further testimony that this is working as intendedimage

Just to clarify, I don't have an HP system to test all this stuff. So you may be wondering, well how do you get the data and know what to remove? Simple answer really -- online malware removal forums. Basically, I'm killing two birds with one stone. Telemetry and bloatware entries I find in logs from sites like SafeZone, BleepingComputer, Malwarebytes, etc... are added into PrivWindoze. Meanwhile, all the nasty malware related entries get added into FMRS. While there could be some nuances, the script should function the same. If it doesn't work as intended, I plan on fixing it asap. Report the issues here or on my Github page. Thank you

This keeps me busy enough and I enjoy seeing my scripts help people out whether it was for privacy or security reasons. These are two major interests of mine as I feel it's getting worse over time with how much data companies want to collect from you.

Please note, if you were a fan of PrivWindoze Lite, it has not yet been updated to 5.0.0. I'm not sure if I'll continue with the Lite version or not. Need more time to think on it. Stick to the full version for now.
