The Diary of a CEO: The 33 Laws of Business and Life
by Steven Bartlett

I found out about this book by stumbling across his podcast on YouTube. What really impressed me, was the level of thoughtful insight he possess. He doesn’t just talk about shallow topics, he delves deep into understanding the why and psychology of human behavior.
His book is just as insightful. He thinks deeply about each topic, bringing real research along with thoughtful insights conveyed in a clear, concise way.
Here are some of my favorite quotes:
“If you want to master something, do it publicly and do it consistently”
“Stop telling yourself you’re not qualified, good enough, or worthy. Growth happens when you start doing the things you’re not qualified to do.”
“Researchers found that turning a statement into a question could influence a person’s behavior for up to six months… The great thing about a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ question is it doesn’t give you any wiggle room to deceive yourself.”
“One of the most effective things you can do is also the simples: get a good night’s sleep. Whatever you’re trying to improve… sleep will help.”
“A brand’s publicity is defined more by its useless absurdity than its useful practicalities; the most absurd thing about you says everything about you.”
“Normality is ignored. Absurdity sells… Indifference is the least profitable outcome.”
