Setting up your old canon to record videos is actually a pretty straight forward thing to do, you just now have my beautiful voice to walk you through the process (you're welcome).
After discovering how to use my old DSLR to record videos, I figured this topic would be a good one (or should I say an easy enough one?) to try and do a short tutorial myself, something I've been thinking about for some time now.
At first, I wasn't too comfortable with the idea of putting my voice into it and thought about displaying text instead. Then I remembered all those tuts I had to read through during my life. That made me grab the mic and start recording takes until I reached an intelligible enough result. I gotta thank my mate @drownedDemons and his lovely friends for their assistance on phonetics, they really made the difference here. Otherwise, it would have been pretty hard for you to understand my mumbled-spoken english.
