Well... it's not really an "ask." More of a "here's an option if you're interested." But the simple reason I set up a Buy Me A Coffee option is this:
I created a podcast that features interviews with crime fiction authors
I did this to promote other authors, to introduce and/or explore their work with potential readers
Even though I've suspended producing new episodes, I want to keep the show online and available
BUT the sponsorship deal, which essentially covered costs, was only active during the years of production
SO, I'm now covering the hosting and associated costs with keeping the podcast alive and available
Now, to be clear...
I intend to do this regardless. I created the show to promote other authors in the crime fiction arena, and it is worth the cost to me to keep those interviews available for readers to find.
That said, it does cost. Not a ton, but some. And people do sometimes ask how they can support the show, since I don't have a Patreon or anything like that. So I thought that this would be a simple solution. If people want, here is a vehicle to support the show and help defray the cost of keeping these evergreen interviews available for listeners in the future (or to revisit).
Maybe not a great sales pitch, since I'm going to keep them online either way. But I do appreciate the kind words and gestures like "buying me a coffee." So thanks for all who listen, and an additional thanks to anyone who helps out.
