These were among the final words Jesus spoke before His Ascension. They weren’t just instructions for the apostles, they were a mission for every believer.
Jesus didn’t simply tell us to go; He gave us His authority and promised His presence. That changes everything.
We’re not just sent out as messengers, but as beloved children, empowered by the Holy Spirit and accompanied by the One who conquered death.
The command to baptize and teach can sound intimidating.
But Jesus knew this, which is why He ends with the comforting words: “I am with you always.” You are never alone when you share His love, care for others, or live out your faith.
He walks with you in every conversation, every act of kindness, every challenge.
This is not just the work of missionaries or priests. It’s a calling for all of us — in our families, our workplaces, our neighborhoods. We each have a role in showing others who Jesus is, simply by the way we live, love, and forgive.
And no matter how small our part feels, He is with us in it, strengthening and guiding us.
How is Jesus inviting you to share His love? Through a word of encouragement, a quiet act of service, a listening ear, or a moment of forgiveness?
What small step can you take today to be His presence in someone’s life?
Lord Jesus, thank You for calling me to be part of Your mission.
Help me to share Your love with courage and joy, knowing You are always by my side. Amen.
