Forest School delivery can be so intense – setting up the kit (and lugging it to site!), rigging the shelter, lighting the fire, doing the risk assessment… and that’s just before the kids arrive!
Sometimes it can be hard to fit in some woodland playtime for ourselves.
We all need time to play and connect in nature – how else can we keep our passion burning brightly? Or model curiosity, enthusiasm and compassion? Or share our gifts with the world?
The first hints of summer are here – the scent of hawthorn blossoms, skylarks soaring song and butterflies flutterby.
Come and immerse yourself in the abundance that nature provides, whilst practicing practical skills, crafting and making, play seasonal games and connect with like-minded people.
I’m offering some half day ‘Skills for Forest School’ workshops in Norfolk (UK) to celebrate the start of the summer season on Saturday 18th May 2024:
· ‘Summer’s Buzzing’ – Celebrate all minibeasts with legs or slime, play bug games and solve identification rhymes. Use tools to craft creepy crawly things, and make an ointment for insect stings!
· ‘Wild Medicine’ - Celebrate the medicine nature brings, and harvest fibres to make some string. Discover the symbology all around and forage for teas from wild plants you have found.
Both these 3 hours sessions will give you seasonal inspiration and practical skills you can use with your Forest School or Outdoor Learning groups. As well as opportunities to connect and share with other practitioners in real life.
