In the Northernmost territory of planet Fistbump the Sky, Juno Altair, head librarian of the Interstellar Observatory, has noticed that the number of stars has been declining. Determined to find the reason, Juno reaches out to an old friend.
Far beyond the territorial borders, Obumbu, the Map Maker, has decided to die. However, news of a war against the god seeds forces them to postpone their farewell.
“The Map Maker” is a fantasy series told through letters and diary entries from various characters.
It's up to the reader to piece the story together.
“The Map Maker” can be read as a stand-alone series or alongside “The Fantastical Encyclopedia of the Imagined World of Fistbump the Sky.”

Dinker Shilta was the first member chosen to join the Inter-Territory Research team, where they also act as the main writer and historian. Dinker Shilta, known as the world’s best memory reader, bloomed three lives ago in Hai-Kyun with a traditional brush maker and a sound producer for parents. They have often spoken about their parents’ influence on their understanding of memories and writing. Dinker Shilta spent their first life learning about sound from their parents before spending their last time cycles learning sound manipulation directly from the Melody nomads. In their second life, Dinker Shilta moved between the Interstellar and Astro territories after being recommended as an assistant memory collector. It was during this time that they learned how to read memories, as well as script. Early in their third life, Dinker Shilta received the title of best memory reader. Their skills with memories and experience with cataloguing historical artefacts made them a clear candidate to join the research team tasked with constructing the planet’s accurate history.

Dinker Di is the Inter-Territory Research Team’s official artist and was personally recommended by their seed-kin and guardian, Dinker Di, to join the team. They are currently on their first life. However, due to health reasons, they have spent most of their time cycles travelling between Hai-Kyun and Baal for treatment. Dinker Shilta has gone to great lengths to ensure that Dinker Di’s appearance and illness remain out of the public eye. Dinker Di is currently attending a long-distance school and hopes to have the same impact in the art world as Obumbu.

Juno Altair is the current head librarian at Interstellar and is completing their training to become the head astronomer. Juno Altair was made from pieces of Pluto, their predecessor and is currently on their second life. They spent their first life learning about the stars under Pluto’s watch before moving on to become a memory cataloguer in the library, where they were often referred to as Pluto’s protégé.

Obumbu is famous for founding the Hai-Kyun territory and co-creating the writing system alongside their friend, Pit Ma Fro. Obumbu is also known as a forerunner of artists, which led to their being tasked with creating Fistbump the Sky’s first world map. Although the final map reached the library in Interstellar, Obumbu unfortunately did not survive the journey.

Monahl Ka bloomed in Lai territory to parents from Laika and Petito. They are currently on their first life. Monahl Ka had previously been a famous collector in Lai before unfortunately contracting the Eleroom disease. This was before medicine had been created, and the disease has now become incurable. After learning that the Eleroom disease made Monahl Ka hide from the public eye, Astron herself appointed them master tracker of the Lines of Intent. Monahl Ka has since permanently moved to the towers in Metallica.
PIT - MA - FRO

Pit-Ma-Fro is best known as the founder of the Ma-A territory and for co-creating the writing system with their good friend, Obumbu. Pit-Ma-Fro is currently in their third life. Although retired, they are still leading the planet-wide writing initiative of Fistbump the Sky.

Pluto founded the Interstellar territory and established its famous astronomy tower and library. They often advised other inhabitants, regardless of rank, and established a method of external communication with the stars. Pluto also used their access to extraterrestrial knowledge to help utilise the Lines of Intent. Sadly, during their second life, Pluto contracted elements of an unknown disease and did not survive. At their request, their protégé, Juno Altair, took over their position.
FRENZY

Frenzy is the former leader of Phrenezia, a territory they chose for their seed-kid’s love of the colour red. Unfortunately, in their need to find a cure for their seed-kin, Weiss, Frenzy eventually kidnapped and experimented on inhabitants from Petito and members of the Melody nomadic tribe. They and the Phrenezian citizens have since been banished to live on the cake crust, leaving Frenzy empty. Debates are currently underway over who should take over the territory.
ASTRON

Astron is the current advisor to the Supreme. She is on her first life and is famous for founding the Astro territory and leading the way in the Great Frog religion. However, Astron is most famous for working alongside Lahba to create medicine for the diseases that once plagued the planet. Astron has since been receiving visions from the Great Frog himself. After spending her first two lives as a history collector and establishing the way of the Great Frog, Astron took in Juniper-Mum after the doorways were closed.

Juniper-Mum is the current leader of Iab-Mum and the Supreme of Fistbump the Sky. They are in their second life and spent their first life living with their parents on Iab-Mum. Unfortunately, both parents passed away during the time of the diseases. As both were avid worshippers of the Great Frog, Juniper-Mum was taken in by Astron, where they spent most of their time studying the planet’s history and worshipping at the Great Frog temples in Astro. Astron herself recommended Iab-Mum as the leader of Iab-Mum. Their actions as a leader led to them becoming the Supreme.
SWIFT

Swift leads the Swift nomadic tribe and earned the nickname “The Guardian” after developing various combat methods, which they still teach anyone interested. Swift is currently on their third life and has publicly announced that they have decided to undergo another rebirth.

Two Eyes (recent name) is the spirit expert of the Inter-Territory Research team. They are currently in their second life and were made directly from pieces of Tian, Pendla’s co-founder. Two Eyes chose to spend their first life as a temple sweeper in Gods Grounds after completing their shaman training under Tian. They then spent their second life as a Siya praiser before receiving the majority vote to become the spirit expert.
