Now-a-days there are many Magick that been practiced here in the Philippines. When you open up your social media, we can see multitude of people offering Powerful Magicks that ordinary man could think of. In TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube you can see people casting spells and use hastag #FilipinoWitch. We all know that Witches uses Magick but not all who practice magick are called witches. This is also the same with Magick. Not all Magick can be Filipino Magick nor Filipino Witch practice Filipino Magick. Does this topic confuse you now? Let me explain.
The Philippine has been known to be a Christian Country in the South East Asia. We have been colonized by the Kingdom of Spain for almost 377 years from 1521 to 1898, and it's stigma and influence still remains even up to now which in 2020. And the influence that been stuck into the lives of many Filipino is the religion that been all of us are forced to take which is Christianity. And in this religion, Magick is forbidden to practice such as we can found in the Bible that says:
Do not turn to mediums or necromancers; do not seek them out, and so make yourselves unclean by them: I am the Lord your God. - Leviticus 19:31
You shall not permit a sorceress to live- Exodus 22:18
But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death- Revelation 21:8
And many more verses you can find in the Bible that condemns the practice of Sorcery which we all know now as Magick. So How come that this Christian Nation has many Magickal Practitioners of many kind?
Well, it is because Magick is already in the Blood of the Filipino People not only that lives in the Philippines but also in Diaspora. I remember 17 years ago when i attended a Psychic and Healers Festival at Megamall and there was a conference there, someone who is a well known healer talks about her experience in Russia. I forgot her name, but she talked that Filipino Psychic and Healers were feared in Russia because of the power that we posses. And with that i was so proud that I was able to participate in that event and be included in the fellowship of Powerful Healers and Psychic in the Philippines as organized by the Famous Dr. Jaime Licauco who is a well known Paranormal Researcher and University Professor. And aside from that, thanks to Social Media, we can see that many Filipino are making names in the foreign land, (ehem) and that includes me and you in the list. Would you agree? Hehehe!
Okay. Enough with Pride Boosting and Praises for us. Let me go straight to the point with our Topic. Magick is in our Blood and that is the reason why we easily learn new magick. Many of us become expert on many western magick such as on spell casting, tarot cards, astrology etc. Filipino Magickal practitioners have embraced Santeria, Voodoo, Ceremonial, Enochian, Wicca and so on and so forth. We show people to love palo santo, incense, crystals and so much more. But these are not Filipino. You can be a Filipino but our practices are not. Even the clothes that we wear right now is not Filipino.
The Colonization have affected us so much. We reject Christianity but we got lost in embracing our own Magick. So now, we will end this confusion for all of us and will bring back the Magick of our Ancestors in the Land. Let us take pride again to be called as Babaylan. Mangkukulam. Manggagaway. Mambabarang.
