How is everyone doing? It's April 1st already in the Philippines and usually it's the start of Summer before the Pandemic Hit us all and now vacation time for Students were moved on June. It has been said that the 1st day of April is April Fool's day which pranking people is widespread. I don't know who started it but I'm not buying it.
Well, for the past few days I was working at completing my new Book and have submit it for registration of copyrights at Intellectual Properties Office of the Philippines on which I am waiting for their issuance of my Certificate of Registration of CopyRights to The Learning Companion Manual on the Journey in becoming a Hilot Binabaylan.
This book contains all the lessons that I usually Teach during the 8 days Face-to- Face Training on Hilot ng Aghamang Binabaylan which is also a book that I wrote 7 years ago. Though if you wanted to see and Learn the Massage aspect of Hilot, then Hilot ng Aghamang Binabaylan is the right one for you. But this new book which is the Learning Companion Manual, has almost all the essential lessons which a Hilot Binabaylan should know. This contains all treatment methodologies that a Manghihilot could perform aside from Giving Massage such as what we can find on page 93 that we write:
Those people with infectious skin disease could not have massage...
So will that mean a person who has skin infection can not be treated with Hilot? This statement only proves that Hilot is not a Massage but rather a Treatment procedures that can be synonymous with Care. In this new book which I wrote usually comes from the Verbal/Oral Instructions that I give during the Training. If you are a Graduate of Hilot ng Aghamang Binabaylan, you will notice that I am giving the book to the learner, but I have never asked you to open it up while on Training.
My reason for that behavior of mine is that I believe each one of my students can read, so instead of reading aloud while on class, I rather share actual techniques in demonstration that we could utilize the short time that I have with everyone. That means, whenever you come here for a Training, the book you have is just a supplemental information to make your experience whole in our Journey in becoming a Hilot Binabaylan. And that what makes me excited about because in a few days, we are going to welcome new students of Hilot Academy which we will accommodate in our New Training Center in Taguig.
I believe you already all know that we are constructing our building in Taguig. It is not done yet but we pause for a moment because we already lack fund to continue the construction of our student and teachers dormitory, but the Good News is that we can already use the Ground Floor and Learning Activity Area in conducting this training. I already have brought the Massage Bed in Taguig and have bought White Board for our visual aid presentation. Though most of the time we will do actual presentations of skills so what is needed in our Training is just a roof to keep us safe from the heat of the sun and occasional rain. Since Philippines is a tropical country that plays around on being sunny or rainy.
Another this is that the Month of April is the Month of Baybayin which is the Philippine Traditional Indigenous Script which our ancestors have used in Writing. So the whole month of April 2023, We in Luntiang Aghama, HIlot Academy and Bahay SiAdTala will join the online activities of Sulong Baybayin Abril 21 in their weekly activities which are the following:
