We went to Alabat Island which is in Quezon Province as part of our Sister Maria Healing Journey that we are so blessed that we were able to accompany her as Guide. It was our first time to be there and knew the Island by accident. Though it was there all along and the Island was inhibited by the Inagata Alabat Indigenous People which their language is also endangered.

In the Hotel Accommodation where we stay has a beach front and besides the view are mangrove tree that I was able to reach during the low tide.

I walk towards the foot of the tree and pray as I sense multitude of spirits dwelling in the tree. They are protector of the seashore and as well as a home for tiny sea creatures that gives nutrients to the seabed that allows new life form to exist. The Mangrove in the picture called my attention as it has gifted me with an Orange Yellow stone which I carry and enshrined in our Altar in Bulacan.

I have learned that Alabat Island was once a dwelling place of the Inagta People before it was colonized. It has been reached by Islam in the 10th century that its name was known as Allah Bat. Allah means God and Bat means House. And people living in the Island believe that it is the Island of Bathala.

Though the word Alabat means a fence that used as boundary for babies do not fall in their crib. So it is a protection and guide for us to make us stand safely and not fall.
