Yes, I know, a lot of screenwriting advice goes something like this...
“Put your ass down, get to work, and no matter what, finish your freakin’ screenplay, at all costs!”
But after spending 10 years grafting, ups-killing and months in writers rooms, I can let you know it doesn’t work like that in the real world of storytelling.
So here’s my advice:
If you’re feeling stuck… Unsure of where to start… Don’t know where to go next…
Then don’t worry! It’s OK!
It’s ok if you’re stuck at the opening or can’t figure out how to nail your story’s climax. Every professional writer you admire has been through this too.
The serious writer spends time in advance developing the story idea so they aren’t wasting time writing something that would never sell.
A production company can’t gamble on a story.
And it’s about time you learned how to turn out winning stories that go on to become brilliant films.
I have something planned to release for beginner screenwriters who need help with their stories.
It doesn’t matter if you haven’t written a single word yet… Or if you’re almost done with your first draft. Skill level doesn’t matter.
Screenwriting requires commitment. Skill usually follows suit.
