One thing that wasn’t as good as it could be was the refresh rate. I initially thought that using the widgets might drop the FPS while playing with Dashgoody running—but turns out, I was wrong.
Most of the telemetry data available in the Papyrus header is updated at 36Hz. That’s because not all of it needs to be real-time. However, physics do need to be, and there’s actually an option in the header to bump the physics update rate from 36Hz to 288Hz!
And boom—this completely changes how everything looks and feels. It’s much smoother than I expected, and I’m really glad with the result.

Throttle/Brake Graph

This is a simple one, but I find it super useful. When I'm watching other drivers in other racing games, this tool really helps me understand braking and throttle zones, and how much they're applying.
The code is done—now I just need to spend a bit more time thinking about the design.
