I observe a lot of grace on Lothian buses - sometimes a little ungrace too - but more grace than not.
The bus drivers who wait until the frail person reaches their seat, who let on the over-60s or children who have left their bus passes at home, who uncomplainingly pull out the ramp for the wheelchair users to board (as they must!).
The locals who keep the tourists right about where to get off or even a rookie driver about the route.
An old man giving a pound coin to a child.
I haven't struck up many conversations with strangers on Lothian buses, though. For that, I need to go to Glasgow.
