Last week I was walking along a city street on a windy day when I realised that I could hear the leaves rustling in the dried beech hedge I was walking past.
That moment woke me up to the myriad possibilities of connecting with nature that were all around me.
Now, I inspect the sky carefully when I first step outside in the morning.
I look in gardens at the still and newly blooming plants.
I marvel at the winter flowering blossom (is it in season or is it a sign of global warming?).
I enjoy the silhouettes of the bare trees and the dappled running water of the Water of Leith.
I pinch and sniff drying lavender as I go by.
Today I added the lichens and mosses decorating the concrete pavements to my focus.
Even looking through a window at work can be a blessing.
What can you see? What can you hear? What can you smell?
