Finally i finished the suspended U-wing from Star Wars Rouge One. After finishing the Star Wars series Andor, I rewatched the movie Rouge One. It makes so much difference now that we got to know Cassian and the rebels more from the Andor series.
Currently i test printed it using grey PLA but i will be printing this in multicolor with 3 PLA.. Silver, Black and Blue to match the one Andor uses in Rouge One..
I made the frame to look like the shield gate protecting the planet Scarif in Rouge One.. There is 2 layer ring with the LED channel on the outer ring and holes to pass the light through the inner ring..
I'm currently using the new suspended technique where you dont have to use Arachne wall generator settings.. the strings are more durable and have consistant thickness..
I also made a modelling video of the U-Wing using Tinkercad.. Im currently editing the videos now to remove all my distractions from the modelling work.. I will share it on my Instagram and Tiktok later next week..
For next week.. i might re-attempt to redo my suspended Silver surfer with the new technique. I am going to use the same style as i did the Suspended Angel from X-men.
Anyway that's all for me this week.. its really hard to get free time to makes these 3D print projects since i started teaching in one of my local university. Hopefully when the semester ends.. i'll have more time to work on my 3d print projects.
As per usual.. i have uploaded the files to my google drive for everyone to download and print.. i'll start sharing this suspended U-wing to my makerworld page next weekend..
