Tropical Update -- Sun 12 Nov'23

Nov 12, 2023

> slow-developer may reach us next weekend <

From left to right…

* Grey:

A broad area of low pressure (aka tropical disturbance) -- located just off the Panama/Costa Rica/Nicaragua coast -- currently has a low (0%) to medium (50%) chance of developing before it heads in an usual direction towards the Caribbean.

…Regardless of development, it is expected to cause heavy showers, thunderstorms, flooding, and mud-slides across Central America, Jamaica, Cuba, and Hispaniola in the coming few days.

…If this system (developed or not) holds together, it is projected to reach near or NW of the local region (SSS Islands) by next Sunday.

We will continue to monitor its progress.

* Yellow:

A nearby tropical wave -- now centered along 62°W -- currently has no chance of developing, but is affecting the southern Caribbean islands.

…Showers (possibly heavy) and possible localized flooding are possible today & tomorrow.

…Effects of this system are not expected for the SSS Islands.

** Rest of the Atlantic:

More tropical activity remains likely before the Season wraps up.

…we have 19 days left in the season…
