> 2 new systems in Atlantic <
From left to right…
* Green:
Lee maxed @ Cat-5 on Thu+Fri, and is currently down to Cat-2-Hurricane status as it passes a "safe" distance from the SSS Islands & the rest of the Caribbean.
…Details are in a separate post.
* Purple:
Although Tropical Storm Margot is expected to strengthen into a hurricane in a couple days, it remains no threat to the Caribbean -- as it will remain in the open north Atlantic Ocean.
* White:
A newly developing tropical wave (designated as invest 97L) centered at 13°N 27°W -- has a low (30%) chance of developing within the next 2-7 days.
...Early projections indicate that this system is/will move slowly & likely merge with the one "behind" it by mid-week.
We will continue to monitor it.
* Yellow:
The 'newest' tropical wave located at the edge of the African coast -- already has a low (0-30%) chance of developing within the next 2-7 days.
...It is way too early to determine the intensity, path, or effects of this system -- if any.
...however, if it does intensify into a storm/hurricane, it will receive the next name on the list (if the other system doesn't get it 1st): 'Nigel'.
We will also monitor this system.
⚠ we are at the PEAK of the Season...
